Actuators

INMOCO has a comprehensive range of rod actuators featuring roller screw, ballscrew and acme screw drive options.

Operation of these cylinders is simple. When power is supplied, the motor through either a timing belt, gear drive or direct coupling - rotates the leadscrew, causing the drive nut to translate, extending the thrust tube.

Reversing the motor rotation retracts the thrust tube. This is the case for all the rod actuators except the new inverted rollerscrew actuator.

This design has the motor built into the actuator with the motor rotor being built around the roller screw nut; this rotates causing the screw to extend.

This design makes the INMOCO inverted roller screw design one of the most compact, high speed actuators available.

Rodless Actuators INMOCO’s range of rodless actuators consists of three basic sizes, each available with a choice of motor.

The basic operation of rodless actuators is similar to the standard electric cylinders described earlier. However, instead of an extending rod, a rodless carriage is supported by linear bearings within an extruded aluminium chassis. This gives the rodless actuator the ability to guide and support a load, as well as position it. The carriage is driven by a lead screw or a steel reinforced timing belt.
