Microstepping Drives
The 6400 series of high performance microstepping drives are modular to support a broad range of application requirements. The modular design ensures that you maximise your value and get only the features you need.
You choose the method of control for your application, from simple step and direction to full programmability and field bus compliant models that including Profibus.
The heart of the 6400 series is the step driver ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) developed by PacSci. The exceptional features common to all 6400 series drives originate with this integrated circuit.
A 22pin header interface allows the ASIC to communicate with our option cards. Our engineers can also use this interface to provide OEM's with custom solutions including fieldbus options.
All drives in this range have key performance features. PacSci's patented 4 phase bipolar chopper circuit electronically controls the motor winding currents at 20 khz, reducing heat, audible and electronic noise, and improving current control during dynamic braking.
Microstepping assures smooth low speed operation and optimum system resolution. Resolution is adjustable to 51,200 steps per revolution in the binary step size mode.
PacSci's patented digital electronic damping circuit eliminates the problem of mid-range instability or resonance, inherent to all stepper systems. This circuit delivers full torque across the entire speed range. Idle current reduction reduces the motor current during inactive periods so your stepper system runs cooler, extending motor and drive life.
A cooler systems is more efficient and in some applications can even mean a smaller motor package size.
